What is Coversyl 4 mg?

Coversyl 4 mg containing the active ingredient perindopril erbumine is considered an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor type of medication. The tablets work by blocking certain natural chemicals in the body to help blood vessels relax and blood to flow more smoothly. It can be used alone or along with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and certain types of heart diseases. Lowering high blood pressure can help patients prevent heart attacks, strokes and kidney problems.

How is Coversyl 4 mg used?

Coversyl 4 mg is usually taken orally 1 to 2 times daily or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken along with a full glass of water to prevent dehydration. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the therapy. The recommended maximum dosage is 16mg within 24 hours. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as there are generally no visible signs of high blood pressure.
