Important Information about Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution
Before using Bimatoprost, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or to similar drugs (Bimatoprost, travoprost), or if you have other known allergies. This medication may have inactive ingredients such as preservative like benzalkonium chloride that can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Consult your doctor about this.
Also, inform your doctor in advance about your medical history, especially if you have eye pressure problems (glaucoma), other eye problems (macular edema, iritis, uveitis, lens extraction/aphakia). If you get a new eye condition such as infection while using Bimatoprost, it may indicate that the medication is contaminated. Ask your doctor whether to start using a new medication bottle.
Bimatoprost may cause eyelid darkening which may be temporary and reversible. It may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent.
Bimatoprost can cause hair growth in areas touched by it frequently around the eyelashes. Therefore, any excess solution outside the upper eyelid margin should be removed using a tissue or other absorbent material. Some irregularities are possible with respect to eyelash length, thickness, fullness, pigmentation, number of hairs, and/or direction of eyelash growth.
These differences will usually subside after stopping Bimatoprost usage. If you are having your intraocular pressure (eye pressure) tested, tell the testing personnel that you are using Bimatoprost. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding a child, ask your doctor if it is safe to use this medication safely.
Before Using Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution
Before using bimatoprost, take care of all the precautions and points mentioned above. Discuss them with your doctor for more details or if you have any doubt.
How should I use Bimatoprost Ophthalmic Solution?
Use Bimatoprost Ophthalmic (Careprost) strictly according to your doctor’s direction or according to the instructions on the medication label. Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so. All medications come with a patient leaflet. Follow the instructions in them carefully.
Do not apply Bimatoprost Ophthalmic while you are wearing contact lenses. This medication may have a preservative ingredient which can be absorbed into the soft contact lenses. Ensure a gap of at least 15 minutes after putting the eye drops before you wear your contact lenses.
Use Bimatoprost Ophthalmic medication once daily in the evening or as advised by your doctor. To apply, first, wash your hands and face. Remember to remove any makeup or contact lenses.
Put one drop of this medication on the provided applicator. Then immediately apply the medication carefully across the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the bottom of the eyelashes starting from the inner part of your lash line to the outer part. Remove (blot) any excess medication that is applied beyond the eyelid margin.
Throw away the applicator as one applicator is provided for each does normally. Repeat this with every dose. Bimatoprost should not be applied on lower eyelids. If any medication gets into the eye, do not rinse it as it is not likely to cause any effect. The reason is that the same medication is used in eyes for glaucoma.
Use Bimatoprost regularly as prescribed. It may take up to 2 months before you see the full effects of this medication. Ensure a high degree of hygiene while handling Ophthalmic drops as chances of contamination are high.
Avoid touching the tip of the medication bottle or dropper as well as protect it from contact with any surface. When you stop using Bimatoprost medication, your eyelashes will return to the way they looked before using this medication.

Side Effects Due to Bimatoprost Ophthalmic
A common side effect of Bimatoprost Ophthalmic solution is itching sensation in the eyes. Other side effects include redness, discomfort, dryness of the eye or redness of the eyelid. It is possible for hair growth to occur in areas where it is not intended (areas around the eye exposed to the medication frequently).
Ensure that you remove any excess medication from around the eyelashes. When Bimatoprost is used for glaucoma that is when it is applied directly into the eye, it may gradually (slowly) cause brown discoloration of the colored part of the eye (iris). This effect is not observed when used for hypotrichosis of the eyelashes.
The side effects listed above are not the only ones due to Bimatoprost. There may be others. Stop using this medication and seek medical attention right away if you experience any serious side effects.

Great Job!! Easy to navigate the website to place order. An efficient way to place an order with any products. Another process keeps on getting better.
Kolton –
I just got my second order of this because I’m absolutely in love with the results! I’ve been using this lash serum for 6 months now and constantly get compliments on my lashes. I first started using this serum because I was addicted to eyelash extensions and they were ruining my lashes. I used the serum while having eyelash extensions in and after all the extensions came out (2-3 weeks) I realized my lashes had grown! I have yet to go back to eyelash extensions because my real lashes have become so much longer and darker. I even go days without mascara just because my bare lashes look so good
Remy –
I’ve tried everything (oils, serum, etc) and Careprost is the only thing that has worked for me

Really loving this serum for my eyelashes…

This review for the generic of Latisse, which is Careprost* I obtained Careprost from safegenericpharmacy.com which is a legitimate website that’s been well-reviewed around the internet. Keep in mind that it is still a prescription product, but you don’t need a prescription to get it from that website. That is technically illegal, but I’ve been buying from them for three years with no scams. Shipping takes a long time (it comes from India and I believe it has to clear customs?)…I once waited over a month to get it from the time I ordered. Also, they don’t take credit cards (no internet pharmacy that sells without a prescription will accept a credit card because credit card companies see them as a risk). I paid by e-check. Normally, I am very wary about sites like that but Safegenericpharmacy is indeed legitimate and the I did get real Careprost (unless I’m really using some other dud product that happens to make my hair grow). You have to be diligent about applying this each night before bed and don’t expect immediate results. I saw growth within three weeks of nightly use. I was using this first for my eyelashes and noticed longer, stronger, fuller lashes. However, it will inevitably get into your eyes and it DID irritate my eyes a lot (made them dry and watery). Now, I am using only using Careprost for my overplucked eyebrows. If you use them on your brows, I would advise applying it 20-30 minutes AFTER you applied your skin moisturizer. You want the moisturizer to be fully absorbed before you apply this. At first, I was just not moisturizing my brows and I didn’t notice anything growth because it was just sitting on my dry skin without being absorbed. My brows grew in faster after I started moisturizing again. Other products I’ve used: Rapidbrow Castor oil Comparatively, Careprost is hands down more effective and faster with the hair growth. This is the end-all, be-all product for brow and lash growth so if you’re not getting any growth with this then you probably won’t get it from any product.

I use careprost that I buy online and I have used it for a about year now Yes, I have a slight darkening at the lashline. It looks like very pale eyeliner. I cover it with a skin tone powder eyeshadow But it’s worth it because my eyelashes are now extremely long and curly. Or use one swipe of mascara for the day. Two swipes at night. When people talk to me, they end up staring at my eyes and smiling. I get so many compliments and comments. Absolutely beautiful I had long lashes to begin with. But now they’re absolutely out of this world!

A lot of reviews have already been written about Careprost, but I thought I’d add my experience to the mix as well. I needed 20 weeks of actual treatment to see full results as opposed to the 16 that is cited in Careprost literature and on its website. This may be because I had taken ~9-10 nonconsecutive days off during the course of the treatment (in part because I went out of town and didn’t want to take it along, and in part to counter some sensitivity to the product early on). I saw change in volume (new growth) long before I saw a change in length. This could be because of the timing of the growth cycle of the lashes or because my lashes weren’t especially short to begin with. It was rather frustrating to use it every night for 4+ months and not see a change in length, particularly when other people seem to report seeing an increase in lash length early in the course of their treatment. But I knew it was doing *something* since I saw new lashes sprouting, so I stuck with it. I’m glad I did, but my patience was definitely tested. FYI, the larger 5 mL bottle lasted for almost exactly 20 weeks of treatment (one drop per night). As others have said, don’t use the brushes they give you; I think they caused the minor eyelid irritation much moreso than the careprost itself. I soon switched to an unused Elf makeup brush I had lying around. A makeup brush is less irritating than the blunt, coarse bristles of their brushes, allows for more precise application, and makes the drop go further. (Put the drop in the bottle cap and dip the brush in, as others suggest.) I also used careprost on my brows to try to correct a bit of an asymmetry and define them a bit more. Those results are still pending. It does work on eyebrows – it works anywhere there is a hair follicle – but results have taken much longer and they’ve been spotty.

I’m 84, if that matters. About a year ago I experienced a sudden (over 6 months) simultaneous increase in intraocular pressure from about 18 to 31. Started using Careprost 3ml 0.01% one drop daily at night. IOC pressure dropped to 16-18 and has stayed in that range. No side effects or discomfort.
Kris –
I’ve been using Lumigan for about 12 years. Of all the different drops out there (and I’ve tried them all), Lumigan is the most effective at reducing my IOP. I also currently use Alphagan and Timoptic. Side effects, for me, include some redness and dryness of the eyes, darkening of the skin around the eyes, and longer eyelashes. My eyes were quite dark to begin with so I can’t comment on the darkening of the iris Lumigan and other drops in its class are known for.

I have used Careprost for many years, and I’ve been very pleased with the results. The online pharmacy from which I bought Careprost recently was sold, and the new owners immediately raised the price. While searching for another source, I found a coupon for the generic version sold at Wal-Mart. Of course, I tried it out and bought two bottles for quite a bargain price. After finishing the first bottle, my eyelashes are dramatically less full, and much shorter than they were when I was using Careprost. The difference is so startling, I wonder if the bottle even contains what the label says it does. I would love to have the second bottle analyzed by a lab! In any case, I’m going back to Careprost. I may not even use the second bottle.
Annie McCrea –
Want to try again. Great product, great price. Very happy to report the great success with this product. Within 8 weeks of nightly use, I could see a marked difference in the thickness of my lashes and the growing length.
Ava –
The active ingredient in Careprost is the exact same chemical, at the exact same concentration, as the active ingredient in Latisse, so you will get the exact same results AND save a lot of money using Careprost. I used Latisse until I researched a bit and discovered Careprost which is widely available in Europe.

Have been on bimatoprost almost a month. It has lowered my eye pressure significantly, which is good, but I have also experienced headaches around the eyes and the top of the head and a general “out of it” feeling in my head periodically, which is disturbing, in addition to some anxiety. I wonder whether this is due to the preservative, benzalkonium, as I can’t eat anything with nitrates, such as hot dogs, etc., which give me migraines Will be bringing this up to my doctor on the next visit. I hope my experience resonates with others on this medication.

I’m 84 if that matters. About a year ago I experienced a sudden (over 6 months) simultaneous increase in intraocular pressure from about 18 to 31. Started using Careprost 0.03% one drop daily at night. IOC pressure dropped to 16-18 and has stayed in that range. No side effects or discomfort.

Another satisfied customer! Extremely satisfied with my purchase and how fast I received it!
Harold –
I have had a horrendous time on this medication. Depression chronic really dark thoughts, and nightmares that the devil would be scared of and breathing problems. My surgeon who operated on my eyes and later diagnosed me with glaucoma said some bizarre side affects can happen so was willing to risk surgery on both my eyes but then retired my new doctor said its all in my mind. Heres some tips: close your eyes after you administer don’t open for approx 5 mins, push a finger against your tear duct to stop the Careprost draining and having a systemic effect. I have tried all the meds this is the best of a bad bunch for me. I am coping better than I was at I take it at 6:30pm not before bed due to satanic nightmares and no sleep.
Willie –
This is a very expensive eye drop and the company only puts enough in the bottle to get exactly 28 to 30 days. You can easily run out early. I’m sure it wouldn’t bankrupt the company to put enough to get a full month out of it. Greedy I guess. I told my doctor to prescribe a different eye drop. I’m happy now.
Margaret –
This stuff actually works. It’s pricey so I switched to Careprost ❤️, and have saved $$$. I’m so thankful I found * Get24bima * 😀 in Google and got Careprost with promo code. It’s the same as Latisse (great quality generic), but a way cheaper. It takes some time and consistency but over the last 2 months or so I’ve noticed a significant difference in the length of my lashes. I did switch to a thinner brush to make more use out of the product though.
Paul –
I’ve been using Careprost for glaucoma for 10 or more years. I have all the bad side effects I’ve read about here. Including others like skin growths, new allergies, hearing loss, aches and dizziness. I am changing to a different drop to see if I can recover from some of the problems. Also, resent Allergan for raising the price out the roof and cancelling patient assistance programs! GREED
James –
After trying just about all the drops out there, this was the one that really worked in lowering the pressure in my eye without any bad side effects.
Marcia Grant –
Love this product. Makes my lashes waaaay fuller and longer. I use it on my browse too.

Increases in eyelash length, caliber and pigmentation have been observed for years in patients using prostaglandin analogues (and similar compounds). The fda-approval of Careprost (bimatoprost 0.03%) gives enhanced confidence amongst patients and physicians alike regarding the safety and efficacy of this medication and mode of therapy for thin, sparse, weak or otherwise inadequate eyelashes. Of course, the medication works only on eyelash follicles that are alive. For missing lashes or to increase the number of lashes, eyelash transplantation remains as the only permanent option.
Carol –
Careprost has really made a huge difference in my eyelash growth. I had areas where lashes were missing, and Careprost helped to regrow areas that were lacking eyelashes. They are long, and full! Use every night after washing your face and cleansing eye makeup.
Thomas –
Careprost is very Effective product. This product is very useful to grow eyelashes for me.
